cinco de mayo

Happy day that commemorates the liberation of Mexico from France at the Battle of Puebla! Matt says that Mexicans don't understand why Americans celebrate it here because they rarely celebrate it there...now you know.

Since school has been out I have been working at a wholesale floral supplier for the busy season, Mother's Day and Memorial Day. Who knew it took so much work to get these blooms all arranged and shipped to your nearest grocery store.

Matt was enjoying the sunny weather when I got home. Hopefully, we won't have another freak snow. Let my summer begin, Utah! It has been so nice living right by the Provo River and trail. I'll be sad when we eventually leave this apartment/first "home" together. For now, I'm excited for frequent walks by the river.

It is going to be an interesting summer. We are doing our best to figure out the future and to get ourselves out of Utah. In the meantime, we want to take advantage of all we can that Utah has to offer as we don't know where we will be next summer. The attractions at the top of our list include: camping in Moab, Havasupai, Bryce and Zion's National Parks and many other beautiful landscapes as they are available during these few warm months.

I don't know how I feel about this time in our lives. It is exciting and skeptical because we have the great opportunity to start doing whatever we want, wherever we want. We have the world at our fingertips, but how do we decide with so much possibilty, flexibilty, and freedom! We have much to consider.

  1. Oh Loral, I feel your words so much! I feel that is how Ryan and I are right now (although he still has a few more semesters to finish up)...It just feels like there are countless possibilities and we wonder how we will know which is right?! It's good to know we can just take it one step and moment at a time:)

  2. PRETTY flowers, you must love that! Those were great pics too! I actually really liked the pic you took of Matt down on the grass under the tree.

  3. It really is an exciting, anxious time. I hear you about getting to a warmer place, though! The snow is killer! Experience will help you figure out what path to take. Blayne thought he wanted to be a pharmaceutical rep, so he did it, and that helped him realize he wanted to do something else! You'll figure it out as you go :). And with your gorgeous, P90X bods it will be that much easier to get what you want!
