the dream of the 90s is alive in portland

My brother told me about this show that mocks the culture of Portland. We are getting a little taste of what it will be like to live there and it is getting us excited to experience the Northwest!
Don't be surprised if I start to wear more flannel shirts, throw away my shoes and only eat farm-raised, local anything.

i miss matt

What Matt is seeing in every direction this week.
Looks like an ocean of ice and snow.

I ignored all of Matt's calls today because they showed up as a private number and I didn't know it was him. I am blaming Canada for this.

one more week and bu will no longer be my weekend husband

Before his work focuses primarily in Portland, Matt will be spending his last week of training with the Canucks of Yorkton, Canada.

I look forward to more face time with him.

A beast of a beard, the longest Matt has ever grown it out.

Where Matt has been these last 4 months or so

brother goes back to school

It was a fun, short road trip back down through central Texas with my parents to help Steve and Walter move.

Mmmmm

We (and I mean mostly me) had to make a stop or two at Round Rock donuts. My mom's reaction, (a slight sigh of disgust) was priceless when she opened the box.

San Marcos is lucky to have Walter.

It was sad to say good-bye to Steve and Walter, but I am also so excited for them!

i would live for days like this when i was younger

It was raining all morning and now it is snowing.

If I were still in grade school, Rach and I would be getting up early tomorrow, watch the news in our pjs and pray that PISD would scroll across the screen on the news ticker indicating school was canceled. Unlike other places where snow is normal and snow crews/plows exist, Dallas is never prepared for it. The roads will either be too slushy or icy and school was practically guaranteed canceled. On this rare occasion, we would throw on our ski clothes and make the day about snowball fights, sledding and building snowmen.
