The Graduate

Matt is now an alumnus of BYU and graduated with a degree in Spanish Translation. Yesterday was the commencement for everyone in the Marriott Center and today Matt walked in the Marriott Center with the College of Humanities. President Uchtdorf and Elder Nelson spoke yesterday and it was really good. Matt's parents drove from California to be there and Matt and I will go this weekend to visit his grandparents in Idaho with his dad. I'm jealous Matt has his degree and I can't wait for next April when I will walk!

Skiing and Santa Barbara/Bakersfield Trip

Matt got passes from my parents for Christmas for us to go to the Canyons this season, we forgot to take a picture on the mountain, so here we are leaving after a nice day in Park City, hopefully we can go back one more time before it gets too warm. Thanks Mom and Dad!

This is the Santa Barbara courthouse where we got our marriage license for May! We both had to be there so we did it last weekend when we were in California for a couples shower in Santa Barbara and took a day to visit my family in Bakersfield where my aunts and cousins were throwing me a bridal shower. It was such a fun weekend, I was able to meet a lot of the people Matt grew up with and it was fun to see my grandparents and family. We are lucky to have so many people who care about us!

The Adventures of Matt and Loral Before Getting Engaged.... (Cont'd)

BEAUTIFUL Havasupai
(May '08)

Matt and I and friends made the drive to Havasupai, an Indian village in Arizona in the Grand Canyon. The hike down through switchbacks and the canyon to Havasupai takes about 5 hours and is10 miles long, but well worth it! This was the most beautiful place I have been with the clear blue water against the red rock.

Landon, Toby, Kelcey, Rob and Matt

The canyon we hiked for 10 miles. We made the hike to and from the car at night so we never saw what the canyon looked like until the morning after we hiked out.

California Trip (Bakersfield, Santa Barbara & San Francisco!)
June '08

Matt and I had the opportunity to visit family in Bakersfield when I had a family reunion. After Bakersfield we visited his family in Santa Barbara and then we were able to visit his brother Bill and his now Fiance, Angie, who were nice enough to have us for a couple of days while Matt and I explored San Francisco. We were able to ride a trolley, visit Chinatown, walk along Pier 49, eat ice cream at Ghiradelli square and take a tour of Alcatraz! It was so much fun to see family and make the beautiful drive up the 1 on the coast of California.
