We had a wonderful, wonderful Christmas! I love the Christmas season. You can't beat spending time with family, the decorations, food, and giving gifts. I can't believe 2010 is already coming to an end.

Nathan and Katie brought Christmas early.

Matt and I before Christmas Eve festivities. These included; playing carols with chimes, singing the 12 days of Christmas, reading the Christmas story and other spiritual thoughts, and of course, delicious food with friends and family.

Another favorite are these beautiful, greatly detailed Christmas stockings hanging above the fireplace my Grandma Nelson made for each of us when we were born.

As usual, the rest of the day was spent in our pajamas, calling family and eating more food.

We finally know where we are moving! I can finally start planning and stop posting about dogs. I was going slightly crazy there. I don't do well with the unknown.

Now, I am going to be obsessing and researching my brains out about...

Bu is dressed up everyday for work and it's a rare occasion when I'm wearing something other than jeans and a t-shirt, so when we were both dressed up for a Christmas party, I had to capture the moment and take pictures. 

I love being home, I love spending time with my family and friends, and I can't believe Christmas is almost here!

walter is awesome and deserves a post of his own

While my brother is gone, I am having the pleasure of caring for and hanging out with his English bulldog.

Walter,
could sleep all day.
does not like his walks and runs into his crate when you bring out the collar and leash.
does not like when his wrinkles are cleaned. Yes, you have to clean out their wrinkles.
barks at the vacuum and the printer when they are on.
inhales his food.
snores, loudly.
is the sweetest dog ever.
is so cute when you see his little tail wagging, when you see his face and ears prop up in curiosity and when he runs around during his random spurts of energy.

He sleeps like this, with his chin propped on the side of his crate so he can breath more easily. Looks very uncomfortable.

Loves to give handshakes; lying down, sitting or standing up.

These pictures do not do justice in portraying his true size. He reminds me of how a pig looks when I see him sprawled out like this.

BFFs

To Matt's disdain, I do love dogs. He would be happy to know that I am realizing I would have a hard time leaving a dog alone for long periods of time in an apartment, so I am putting the "getting a dog" thing on hold until further consideration and deliberation. Matt does get gold stars and points for offering to give me a dog for Christmas, though.

there is no place like texas

As much as Texas annoys the rest of America with it's pride, you can't deny the fact that Texas is unique. I'm not surprised Texas would go as far as to put itself in Christmas's place on this pillow my mom and I found while shopping. The funny thing is we thought this was cute, not weird. I'm sure no one would be proud to display their "Merry Idaho'mas or Cali'mas" pillow. That would be weird, right? Not for Texans. To Texans, the Texas flag or the outline of Texas is cute on everything. Frames, pillows, cookie cutters, ornaments, coasters, birdhouses, tattoos, fingernails, swimsuits, dishes, cuff-links, you name it, it's probably already been done. We celebrate Texas in every way possible. Do you see Oregon doing this?
